Yes, there will be a farmstand this Saturday morning from 8:30-11:00!
Just a few notes:
1. The Milan Harvest Festival is taking place at Camden Park from Thursday (today) through Sunday, so the intersection near the park on the Beltway may see a lot more traffic, and many will be unfamiliar with where to turn in or park. Please watch the traffic there and be careful.
2. Saturday morning is the parade in downtown Milan and it will cause some streets (4th Street, 2nd Avenue, 1st Street/US 67) to be closed until a little after noon when it has finished.
3. It is going to be another hot one, so note that we’ll be open 8:30-11:00 to beat the heat. If you are unable to get here before 11, and want items, please message me with your request and time that you’re available. Your items will stay inside until you arrive.
Last week, the baked goods were a huge hit, and sadly, some of you missed them. Not to worry – I made more!! There is dark chocolate biscotti packaged up and almond biscotti will bake this afternoon. It has a little lemon zest in it and sugar on top for a great flavor profile and crisp top. There will be more of the old fashioned spice cake with maple glaze, too! Additionally, there were a couple of requests for Italian focaccia, so the dough will get made tonight and it will proof overnight in the fridge.
All the plums that were so generously gifted have been turned into jam, spiced jam, butter, and sauce! Sauce?? YES! It has a little spice added, and it would be amazing on ice cream (according to Scott), swirled into oatmeal or yogurt (according to me), or drizzled over pancakes or waffles (we both agree).
Please feel free to get me your request before noon on Friday and your order will be set aside. I’ve got a lot of baking, packing, and the usual stuff in the afternoon and it would be nice to finish working at a normal time tomorrow night 🙂 Look forward to seeing you Saturday morning!
