Hello to all of you! I miss seeing you and having a full farmstand, but we know that October is ticking by and soon it will be cold. The landscape here has been getting a lot of attention, trees have been getting trimmed, things have been getting cleaned and put away for winter (there’s so much of this to do!), and the garden has been slowly getting pulled out – now I’m just waiting for the last 6 tomatoes to dry up. What’s left? Green beans are still coming in! With this week’s warm weather, they’ve been flowering and making beans like crazy, and more will probably be ready to pick tomorrow (Sunday). There are some carrots, beets, plenty of herbs, the last of the decorative gourds, and PEPPERS! Peppers try to outdo themselves as we get closer to fall. Do you have enough in your freezer? There are probably flowers that could be cut, too. They got deadheaded and trimmed back so we should have more blooms.

Lettuce and new kale are growing and looking good. It will just take time for them to mature to a point where they can be harvested. Short days cause them to grow slowly, and I’ve had to cover the hoop house with shade fabric to keep them from cooking in there in this week’s warm weather. That shade fabric creates a lower light environment and also slows growth a bit. But, without it those little plants would have cooked.

Let me make a list of what should be available today or tomorrow.

Once again, I want to thank you all for your support, generosity, and friendship. This has been an odd couple of weeks without the picking/packing, baking, and getting ready for and having the farmstand. Stay tuned for the announcement of a pop-up, though! Hope you all are doing well and have been enjoying this gorgeous weather!
