Get in touch if you need or want anything during the week. Wednesday farmstands are a thing of the past… There are smaller harvests coming in, dwindling Wednesday sales, and a growing list of outdoor tasks to get done. From here through the end of the season, just give me some notice with your order and I’ll do my best to get it filled!
This afternoon/evening, I could pick small slicers, cherry or salad tomatoes, 10 pounds (or more) of nice Romas, peppers (bell, Carmen, banana, jalapeno, Serrano), maybe a pound or two of beans, beets, fresh herbs (sage, thyme, rosemary, Italian parsley, cilantro, chives), and a few small flower bouquets. First thing in the morning, I could also pick chard.
Prepared foods include granola (almond blueberry, strawberry, maple applesauce, apple walnut, and banana), chai latte mix, jams – remember all those freshly made plum products like plum butter, plum jam, spiced plum jam, and plum sauce!
Most items could be available to pick up later today, and suddenly my Wednesday has 3 appointments. That means availability on Wednesday will be before 10:00, at noon, or between 3:00 and 5:00.
On a different note, it looks like some squash may be ready for the weekend! They would be freshly picked, so if you can let them sit for a week, their flavor will improve as the sugars fully develop on most squash after they’ve been picked. Banana bread has been requested by a little customer, so we’ll have that plus coffee cakes, and if there’s time, another batch of dark chocolate biscotti since you all can’t seem to get enough of them 🙂
Here’s to a week with a laid back pace and plenty of sunshine!
