I’s hard to believe how fast we’ve zipped through the days of this last quarter! There has been so much activity around here! Getting ready for cold and snowy weather. Keeping inventory stocked at Rescued. Taking special orders. Baking. Making gifts. Hiking with Daisy. The house has finally gotten its deep cleaning and most of the rugs have been shampooed. Tonight, I’m thinking about the dreary weather and lack of motivation to make dinner or come up with what to make for dinner.

Anyone interested in a jar of dry ingredients to make a 3 bean chili? It’s got kidney, pinto and black beans along with spices like minced onion, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, parsley, oregano, and a tiny pinch of cayenne pepper. You’ll need 28 ounces of canned or frozen tomatoes, 6 cups of water or stock, and 6 ounces of tomato paste. There are directions to make it on the stove, in a crockpot or InstantPot. You can add up to a pound of cooked ground beef or turkey, more onions, or peppers of your choice – or leave it as is. You’ll want to add some salt and pepper near the end of cooking to adjust it to your taste. This is what we will be having for dinner on Sunday. A jar is just $5 and should yield 6 hearty servings.

I also have, and can make more, instant potato soup mix, too. That’s a creamy mix of instant potato flakes, milk powder, minced onion, parsley, chicken soup base, turmeric, freeze dried chives and a little salt & pepper. Add 1/3 cup mix (that’s 5 Tablespoons) to 3/4 cup of boiling water and mix all the lumps out. The important step is to let it sit 2-3 minutes to thicken up. This one is also $5 for a jar that makes 6 servings.

There are some spicy seasoned salts and one rosemary seasoned salt on the shelf if you need some spice in your winter dishes. Of course, there are jams and chai latte mix available. Just get in touch!

We hope you’re all warm and well. The days are getting longer, even though the sun hasn’t show itself in many days. That’s ok because Spring is about 85 days away, and we will surely see some sun in a couple of days. To curb my spring fever, I’ll start planning the crop layout soon!

Let me know if there’s anything that you want!
