It looks like we’ll need sweatshirts, but the farmstand is definitely happening! I’ll be out front from 9 until noon with a good haul of fresh veggies again. I baked two batches of bread this afternoon, put together tomato soup kits, and have a good amount of Roma tomatoes.
Many of you know that I am a huge supporter of Rescued in Silvis, and they are celebrating their 10th anniversary next weekend. This is a non-profit organization that operates a a boutique resale shop and uses the proceeds to help local pets in need. This organization has donated almost 1 Million dollars into our community to assist with vet bills. That’s an unbelievable amount! Since 2019, prices of veterinary care and preventative medications have risen an estimated 42 percent. The need for assistance for vet bills continues to outpace the inflow of cash. So, let’s talk about how we can help. Buy a soup kit – all the funds will be donated. Go shop in the store and be sure to check out my display of sugar scrubs, lotion bars and much more (20% of my sales are donated). Next week, I’ll donate baked good to the store for their anniversary event, and I plan to have dipped pretzel rods to sell for them at the farmstand next Saturday.
I’m going out to water the gardens, cut more flowers, put bouquets together and pack up a few more things.
