Wondering what’s different about heirloom tomatoes? They haven’t been cross-bred. Heirlooms remain the same and true to the original plants from decades ago. This means that they haven’t been bred to be perfect, round, bright red fruits. They have unusual shapes, sizes, colors, and are loaded with juicy flavor! Because they are so juicy, take care when handling them and use them pretty soon after getting them home. These tomatoes have not been crossed with tomatoes with thick skins or longer storage capabilities. Today, there are big harvests of Amana Orange and Carbon – so get ready to make a sandwich that will have sweet tomato juice running down your arm with each bite 🙂

Hope to see you in the morning!
