What a wild ride we had with weather last night and we may see some more before tonight is over. Let’s hope they’re wrong about this. Hopefully, you are all well. Our only problems are sticks and branches down and our beautiful maple right in front of the porch has a large branch split. We’ll figure that one out next week. I’ve been picking like mad to get it all done early (storms were predicted between one and two o’clock).

There are 7 mini loaves of zucchini bread in the oven right now and 4 Italian focaccia will go in right after they’re done. All the veggies, herbs, and flowers are inside cooling because even the garage got warm this afternoon. Whew – I call this a face-melting kind of day.

Let’s plan for farmstand on the driveway, out of the mud, from 9 until Noon.

I hope you’ll stop by for some fresh stuff and a little chat! It’s been a long week, and it’ll be nice to see some smiling faces that appreciate what goes into this little operation.

Also, take note that our friend, Jeff Lauber, will be bringing some of his fresh farm harvests to our stand next Saturday the 19th! He’s looking forward to seeing everyone again – it’s been a few years since he has been here in person for the farmstand. Jeff is bringing fresh potatoes – what a treat!! They are Red Norland and Yukon Gold varieties in 5# bags for $6. He bags them with pretty similarly sized potatoes in each bag, and I think he’ll bring some larger baking potatoes to sell singly, if he has them available. There may be a few bags of small boilers, too. He is the king of growing big onions and will be bringing some beauties. Jeff and his family also grow and sell popping corn and I’m sure he’ll have other fresh stuff as it’s available. Please bring cash for Jeff’s goods. No need to pre-order unless you are unable to attend next week’s farmstand.

Time for me to get those breads out and finish prepping the Focaccia. See you in the morning!!
