How on earth did the calendar go so fast this month? I guess the days slip by quickly when you’re busy. And, I’ve been busy for sure! There are peas up and getting ready to send out tendrils. There is a whole lot of lettuce growing in different stages. There is still spinach for another week, and little kale and chard plants are growing. The compost has been mixed with sphagnum peat and composted cow manure, too. Many beds have been filled, the cans that hold mix for the growing season are filled, and there’s still a pile on the driveway.

Do you want to buy a bucket or two of that great bedding mix? You can dump out last year’s planters and mix it 50/50 with this and you’ll have beautifully refreshed planting mix! Bonus for having so much compost material in it that you won’t need to fertilize! Let’s say $5 for a 5 gallon bucket filled and lightly compressed. Find your bucket and get in touch!

Tomato and pepper plants are doing great and many have been put in carts to go inside and outside several times a day. At the end of the day, I hope to pull my plants aside and then take an accurate inventory of available varieties and quantities. You’ll be the first to know what plants will be available for sale. I should also have some herbs and the first planting of dwarf sunflowers ready by next weekend. Remember those little gems when you’re thinking about filling your containers and planters.

If you want spinach, I have 2 bags that just went in the fridge ($4 per bag). One more week and those plants will be pulled to make room for more broccoli.

There is also chai latte mix, potato soup mix, dried herbs, jams, apple butter, banana pepper rings, hot peppers, and hot green tomato pickles available.

We hope that you’re having a great spring and can take advantage of the sunshine today. Get in touch if you’d like anything, and we’ll coordinate!
