OK, they’re not hot right now. But, our friend Jeff Lauber has harvested potatoes and generously agreed to share with us once again! He’s got Red Norland potatoes in 5# bags that he will deliver to here next week if we get enough orders. They are $6 per bag, and he has smaller and medium sized potatoes available.

If you’re unfamiliar with this variety, it has a smooth, thin, red skin and white flesh. Because these are fresh, not cured for storage, the skins are thin enough that there’s no need to peel for most recipes. Unless you prefer them naked, that is. You know that everything is better when it’s this fresh! I prefer to scrub them and boil, butter and top with some herbs. These potatoes are perfect for boiling (think potato salad for 4th of July), fried, and we’ve used them to make wedge fries (tossed in oil and herbs to bake on a sheet pan). These have a different texture than a baking potato, so Red Norland is not the best choice for baking.

Please use the Contact Me button in the lower right corner of the screen to order your potatoes or ask any questions. Thank you!
